About

Signe Førde Bødtker is a multi-artist with an art education from Einar Granum Art School and a bachelor's degree in classical song from the the University of Agder.

She has exhibited at the opening of the new National Museum of Art in Norway, been representatied by Oslo Nowhere, Asker art association, Dalalåven Atelier, BlackBoxGallery, Galleri2B and Galleri Havstad and more.

She has also had a traveling solo exhibition about dyslexia, which was sent to various libraries in Norway. In connection with this, she also gave lectures and performed as a singer.Signe paint figuratively, primarily with oil and is inspired by the Renaissance as well as modern life.

Her art often portrays the challenges of dyslexia, with many paintings being based of the artist's own traumatic dreams. Her art is an iconography of its own, with green fish representing dyslexia, owls representing school, and the black dog as a symbol of depression.

Text plays an important role in her art and features self-composed poems. Sometimes written backwards, mirrored or upside down, or in uncorrected English to give the reader a sense of dyslexia.

(my values)

I believe art should always be a part of everyday life. My goal is to create work that continues to reveal itself over time.
